Che - Un hombre nuevo

Synopsis

Ernesto Guevara – Che – assassinated at the age of 39, became a true icon of our times. Still to this day, his spirit continues to burn and his legacy, his image, his work and his thoughts have not seized to provoke, enlighten and inspire.

The documentary’s central keys to understanding this image lie in exploring Che’s intimacy, his continuous intellectual and political development, his acute sense of coherence and reasoning, his studies and thoughts dedicated to action and the creation of a new world, his unique poetic perception of reality. The narrative is based on the particular climate that is generated by evoking the memory of Che. It is about presenting fragments of memory from which we begin to develop certain facts or moments in his life – all this told from the intimate and subjective perspective of Ernesto Guevara, assembled using his texts, recording, literal accounts and the archive images of his times as well as through the juxtaposition of all of our findings with the reality of the world today, a world marked by violence and disparity.

After more than ten years of research and studies of his writings, we can now reflect on the mystic image of Che from a new perspective emerging from the depth of his thoughts, and are able to portray him in a dimension that lends new meaning to his public actions and displays the grandeur of his conduct.
