In a small Norwegian town on Christmas Eve, several people struggle to make it home through the snow beneath the colorful Northern Lights. An eclectic mix of townsfolk cross paths in several interwoven stories of humour and tragedy, tenderness and desperation, forgiveness and hope, birth and death.

Bent Hamer was born in Sandefjord, Norway. He studied film theory and literature at Stockholms Universitet and Stockholms Filmskola.
His latest feature film, Home for Christmas, makes its world premiere at the 2010 Toronto Film Festival and its European premiere at the 2010 San Sebastian Film Festival.
O’Horten, had its international premiere at Un Certain Regard at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival. His other feature films Factotum (2005), Kitchen Stories (2003) and Eggs (1995) all participated in the Director’s Fortnight
in Cannes. Both Eggs and Kitchen Stories were awarded the International Film Critics Award (FIPRESCI).
