Senior Legal & Business Affairs Manager - 12 months

 
ABOUT THE ROLE

You'll be joining our Business Affairs team at The Match Factory, playing a central role in the execution of all distribution agreements, specifically for sales & production teams.

YOU WILL FOCUS ON

  • Advising on contractual key business terms at all stages of the negotiations
  • Supervising the implementation of our internal rights management system, along with implementation of any new software solutions
  • Draft and negotiate distribution agreements
  • Manage and draft a high volume of contracts with a fast turnaround
  • Liaising closely with the Finance team to coordinate the set up and maintenance of cash projects
  • Overseeing the Royalty reporting process from distribution partners
  • Ad-hoc planning and operational projects based on business need

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  • A strong understanding of IP law. Experience in either Business Affairs, Acquisition, or Sales will also be prioritised
  • Efficiency, preciseness and high attention to detail
  • Ability in working with rights management systems and data administration tools such as Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
  • Project management experience
  • Motivated to work both independently and collaboratively, and feel comfortable working as part of a team
  • Professional proficiency in English
  • (Desired) Previous experience in working with a rights management system
  • (Desired) Experience in the film/TV industry
  • (Desired) Professional proficiency in German

Rights Management System Coordinator - 6 months

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

You'll coordinate the implementation and onboarding of a new rights management system for The Match Factory. This is a fixed-term contract for 6 months.

YOU WILL FOCUS ON

  • Implementing our new rights management system for The Match Factory, along with follow-up maintenance and new feature updates
  • Migrating existing and new content agreements over, including data cleansing and QCs
  • Being the go-to person for any internal requests for optimisation of the content, bridging the gap between the existing rights management system and the new one
  • Liaising with stakeholders across the business on an ongoing basis to ensure the system is up to date
  • Testing and running queries regarding rights in and rights out, avails reports, expiration dates, rights conflicts, legal deliverables, marketing restrictions, talent approvals, and key financial terms
  • Tracking all contract terms and post-signature options or commitments while the two RMS are existing simultaneously
  • Developing and managing any other rights management workflows as required including setting up a handbook across departments
  • Working on ad hoc planning and operational projects as needed

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  • Efficiency, preciseness and high attention to detail
  • Ability in working with rights management systems and data administration tools such as Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
  • Basic understanding of legal / contractual vocabulary
  • Basic Project management experience
  • Motivated to work both independently and collaboratively, and feel comfortable working as part of a team
  • (Desired) Previous experience in working with a rights management system is a bonus
  • (Desired) Experience in the film/TV industry
  • (Desired) Business affairs or paralegal experience
